Hi there,

After seeing Amy's recent post on the above subject, I was wondering...

What about those of us who have pre-ordered and requested delivery, now that the postal strikes are happening?
Is there any option to pick up instead of have it delivered? I only live 5 miles away from Portchester but i asked for delivery because I knew I wouldnt be able to get there during the day. The postal strikes are making me nervous as stuff always gets lost when Royal Mail downs tools...
Do you know if there is anything that can be done? I wouldnt mind coming in early to get the software if it will guarantee it not being lost in the post.
Im sorry if this is hassle for anyone - just a thought, you see.

Many thanks!

Yeah can I add to this?
I bought Windows 7 Home Premium, will it be set through Royal Mail or Parcel force, I recieved my last packages through Parcel force (I checked up and found they shouldn't be affected in the postal strike as they're run as a seperate company? ) so I assumed that win & would delivered in the same way.

It will depend on your manner of delivery - you can request the free normal post (Royal Mail), or one of the premium posts, of which I beleive Parcel Force is one of.

With regards to the strike action and Parcel Force - they are owned by Royal Mail, but perhaps as they are a subsidiary they arent subject to the same implications or strike ballots. I havent heard anything to say they will be striking, but then I havent heard anything to say they definitely aren't either...

Well i did mine as Next day delivery, for 5.99 so what will that be Parcel force or Royal Mail, and no i did some more checking and although the members of PF are CWU they are not striking.

once an order is placed it can not be changed from delivery to collection or collection to delivery. the order can be canceled and placed again with the different delivery method.

the best thing to do would be either call sales and place a new order and ask the sales person to cancel the first one, alternatively order the new one online and contact customer services to cancel the first one.

orders placed for delivery, if next day delivery was chosen the order will be shipped out wendnesday with parcelforce for delivery thursday.

Cheers for the reply Danno.
I placed my order with a combination of gift voucher and debit card details - sounds like this might be a lot of hassle for you guys to get changed. I didnt order mine as next day delivery as normally the normal service is very good from you guys.

Think I shall just sit tight and hope it gets delivered asap!

You're a newcomer Batchie, so I shall forgive this transgression of purchasing from another retailer, and not Novatech, but please ensure this indignity doesn't happen again...

And welcome to the forums!
