Power Keeps Cutting Out

Hello

Anyone have any ideas what could be happening here?

I have a Novatech laptop that keeps cutting out every so often. Doesn't appear to have a pattern to it but it is very frustrating as it happens at crucial times (currently trying to reload O/S)

Hope some one can help.

is the power lead in when it does this
what spec is the laptop
got any virus's??
installed/changed anything to the system before this started to happen

The laptop is about 2 yrs old

The power is generally plugged in although it has happened when running on just the battery, just not as frequently. It seems to coincide with the red battery light flashing on the side of the machine.

The spec is as follows; Matrix Pro 15" Cel 2.6ghz 256mb DDR 30gb HDD Upto 64mb SMA Combo

I have completely reloaded O/S and formatted hdd which should have removed any chance of viruses.

It just started happening - no real indication of anything that had changed on the config.

Sometimes the fan in the laptop gets clogged up with dust and the machines will shut themselves down to stop overheating and permanently damaging itself.
