Does anyone have an Executer 6400 PC and have problems burning to DVD RW discs?

Burns O.K. to DVD R, but will not burn to RW. My PC has been back and forth to Novatech and they don't seem to be able to find the problem, so I wondered if anyone else had the same problem and if they found a solution.

It will burn RW O.K. using Nero, but this is no good to us as it does not support Dolby sound. I am therefore using Cyberlink or Ulead, but for some reason neither will burn onto DVD RW discs. I do not want to purchase yet another video editing program and would have thought the Executor 6400 was a good enough system to burn to anything. I am able to use both Cyberlink and Ulead with my old computer and laptap with no trouble and the main reason I bought the Executor 2core duo was because my old computer and laptop are so slow to burn discs.

Many thanks to anyone who can throw some light on this problem.
Best regards,

If it will burn OK using Nero that would suggest that the PC hardware itself is ok and that your Type of Media is also compatiable with the optical drive.

Do these two programs your using, the cyberlink and ulead product, are they the latest versions??
What versions do you have??

No they are not the latest versions. The Cyberlink is a OEM bundle which came with our JVC video camera and the Ulead is version 10 I think, which is fairly up to date. However, whatever the version is if they work O.K with my Acer and laptop I cannot understand why they should be incompatible with the Executor 6400. Speak with Gavin he has done lots of tests on it and has been unable to find the problem. Speaking of which, I have sent him two emails and not had replies to either. The first one asking for help as to why it will not write to CD's using Windows. There is obviously a problem with this PC and I have not had it fully functional since I bought for my partner's birthday in November for the specific purpose of writing video footage to disc. It has been back three times now and is still not working properly. I just do not know where to go from here, hence my question to the forum asking if anyone else has had the same problem with this model.

I think we have been very patient, but it running rather thin by now. You do have a very good aftersales service, (but this is not much use to me if they cannot find the problem). We had virtually given up on ever getting it sorted and have resorted to using an external DVD writer for burning the videos to RW discs. However, I do need help on the problem of not being able to write to CD's as this is nothing to do with my video editing software so the incompatiblity excuse does not apply.

I fear my next correspondence may have to be to your MD requesting a refund to enable me to buy a model which performs the specified functions for which it is intended.
