Ive got a £500 pound budget to upgrade my Pc, its a
AMD 64 3200
1gb mem
Geforce 6800gt
I was looking at getting ever a Intel E6300 or a E6400 proc- Which i was hoping to upgrade next year or earlyer.I was also looking at getting a Geforce 7600Gt or a 7900Gt or ATi X1950 Pro till the Dx10 card come down in price. Now i havent got a clue on Motherboards or memory so i dont know what to get there plus i need a case and i was told to get a good psu and fans e.t.c.I want to get a good pc but i dont realy want to cut corners just to keep in my budget and end up with something not realy that good.
The only think i will be keeping from my old pc is 2 Ide harddrive, 1 ide Dvd, 1 dvd-wr and my monitor till i can save and get a 19in one
I could wait a good few months and see if some of the parts come down in price but i dont know how long that will be and the moneys burning a hole in my pocket.Any help please

if your looking for a decent pc for around £500 try the one in my sig apart fromt the ebuyer value ram http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=3G0W&InMerch=1 that is a really good price for 1gb thats bradned and £40! i bought generic ebuyer value ram for £70!
hmmm, £500 isn't a lot for a complete new system, especially when you are trying to make something thats better than an allready half decent system...
what motherboard do you have? It may work out better to just buy a new gfx card, more memory and a cpu for your current system.

what are you gonna use the computer for, if games then what games?
get a program called "cpu-z", you can download it, just google it
then once you have got it, just tell us the name of your motherboard, then this could help you find a good upgrade path

googled it and this is what it says your motherboard is
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_sp ... R&class=mb (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8T_Neo2-FIR&class=mb)
does this look correct to you?
it only has a AGP slot, but they arent dead yet.
i would suggest getting a 2GB RAM kit

look for some that may take your fancy
then for gfx
nvidia
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... ?GWD-78GSH (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?GWD-78GSH)
ATI
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... SAP-950P5A (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?SAP-950P5A)
right, thats £300+ gone, depending on whether you take the ATI or nvidia route.
what power supply do you have, might not be good enough for the new gfx card.
new cpu??

not that much of a performance increase going from a 3200 to a 3500, but the 3800's arent in stock.
or go for a cheapy core 2 duo system

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... ml?JEA-NEO (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?JEA-NEO) , cheapest case i could find
that is just over your budget, the case isnt very good from a looks standpoint, but the rest is pretty decent in my opinion.
here are some cheaper motherboards to choose from
