This is the alternative to U3, for USB's.

It runs on the taskbar, bottom left.

Portable apps software (http://portableapps.com/)

Apps (http://portableapps.com/apps) - The installer for the apps should pick up on USB having portable apps running on it.
More apps (http://www.pendriveapps.com/) - Should install the same way.
Google search for more apps (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=portable+apps&meta=&aq=f&oq=)

Give it a go, makes it easy to manage your USB, handles backups, loads of apps.

Software like GIMP, Photoshop Portable, and OpenOffice.

Let me know how you get on!

Cheers,

Aaron.

After linking this to a mate I think you could do with some more info.

This is an alterative way to view your USB. You can still view it normally from My computer. When the autoplay box comes up you can pick "Start Portable Apps" and it will add an icon like this to the the taskbar:

The one on the far left.

Click on it one and it brings up this:

Apps disaplayed in list, space on USB at the bottom, Links to different folders on the right as well as "Explore" where you can view files normally. If you have this and don't want to have it like this all the time, just select "Open folder to view files" instead.
