View Full Version : vista
I bought a EI system 314 from Currys in January (wish I knew about Novatech then) it came with a Vista Premium Upgrade which I have to apply for.
Having read some of your notes on Vista, is it worth upgrading from Windows XP, and are there any hidden cost with the uprade!.
I'm no techkid, can anyone explain what OEM is! and any problems with it.
Also I'm using BT Home Hub which has Norton Security, will this conflict with Vista security.

ive used vista at work, and it is great, even though it is only home edition, it is smooth and works well, but then again, i am used to XP screens so it took me a while to get used to it.
How much is the upgrade? If its free do it - Vista is the future whether we like it or not. Even if its only a few £ i'd still say do it. OEM ties your copy of XP/Vista into the motherboard, you are fairly safe in upgrading the components around it (FAIRLY!) like gfx card/sound card but at the end of the day, you allready have OEM XP so going to OEM Vista will not make much difference on that side of things.

NoxThanks for that, I will stick with the XP for now, and let the Vista sort any early problem out, before changing.
