broadband connection to vista

I am very new to computers
my computer was upgraded to vista and now my speedtouch 330 modem will not connect with virgin net. virgin are not geared up to vista and there are no drivers for the speedtouch for vista.
would i be better to have a router or a wireless set up.I have my main pc and a laptop , could you recommend suitable equipment.
the vista was loaded by novatech so will have been done properly.

You can get routers with a built in ADSL modem & wireless connection.

This would be your best solution, as you don't need any drivers to connect to them. (Apart from the LAN drivers which should already be installed if you have a built in network/wireless adaptor).

I am quite suprised to see that Novatech don't sell these. :roll:
