Hi,

I read or heard if I overclock the CPU it will up the FSB for the ram also, unless my board has an unlink option.

What happens if it hasn't got an unlink option do I need to under clock the ram before overclocking the CPU.

Also I am thinking about gettting some new ram 1066Mhz speed, now if I left that ram at 800Mhz could I just overclock the CPU without worrying about the FSB for the ram ?

Just overclock the ram at the same time. My 667 runs fine at 850. Had to increase voltage a tad though.

How would I do that, or is it just the case of overclocking the CPU?

Indeed, well the FSB any way.

How far do you think I be able to go on the stock cooler?

Its something which you will have to try and see. Every processor/mobo reacts differently. For example on my old board, I could not get my Q6600 over 3 ghz and at 3 it was not completely stable. My new board I can overclock to 3.6 on air and is steady as a rock.

Try a little at a time. 10% say, they work from there. Make suire is nuce a stable, I use SP2004 to check both RAM and CPU of stability.
