Sorry to hear that mate, sounds like a bit of bad luck.
I have never ever had a single problem with deliveries next day from Nova and I do buy an awful lot of bits quite often.

Novatech use Parcelforce, one of the best in the business.
Felix

Wherebouts you live Felix?
It may be that it is actually parcelforce, or whoever novatech use dont have depots there so the courier company passes it on to them

i live in lymington in hampshire.
i even called the courier company and he said well we couldent find your house as it was dark?
i was said to him well tomorow it will be delivered at the same time so you wont be able to find it then also because it will be dark?
next time i order something i guess ill just buy with overclockers or ebuyer it was a mistake buying with novatech.
I believe from a past post that Novatech can sometime use a company called Fastwaycouriers.
Fastway Couriers are surposed to be quite good - but trust me no delivery service is fool proof even Parcelforce can mess up don't knock Novatech for a rare occurance even OcUK/ebayer and other suffer occasionally from the same issues.
I am sure if you contact Novatech's customer service they will sort you out - end of day you paid for it and the Courier failed so Novatech have a right to claim back off the Courier so they should be able to sort you out.

I live in Pompey and in my last order, by mistake I had next day delivery option activated, and Nova used that same courier "fastway..." due to the royal mail strike.
I have to say they are pretty rubbish... They left the typical note of 'you are away' with no depot address or option to pick up the parcel....etc... only a phone number where they always said the parcel is in the van....Oh and you have the option of leaving the card outside your front door where everyone could just pick it up....) with another delivery name,address...At the end I had to ask them not to bother with the delivery that I would go there myself to pick it up. I took me 3 days to get my next day delivery order. The 1st day I wasn't at home (my fault), second day I waited all morning (as I was told they would come in the morning) and they turned up in the afternoon when I had to go to work...and they were going to give it another go if I wouldn't have gone to pick it up myself
I think the Royal Mail strike may also be affecting Parcel Force... as they are the "same" company?
I didn't complain to Nova as I wasn't at home during the next day.. but that courier is really bad....The "depot" in Pompey is near BMW Snows and it's a kinda garage with a couple of small vans...

this is unexceptable. Why does a multimillion pound company use such a budget courier.
Why dont they use fedex, UPS, City link, DHL or tnt. Any of these couriers are better than parcel force and fastway!!!!
i wont be ordering from novatech again.
When i order parts for my computers i always want it next day thats why ebuyer is good they accept orders up till 11pm for nextday delivery now thats a service and they dont cut there lines off at 5.30!!!!

When i spoke to fastway the guy's said there was no note saying nextday delivery on the parcel so? what the **** was going on there?

Its sometimes parcel force not having anyone going your way so they pay someone from fastway to do it for you, i have never had a problem with deliveries i click on next day, and there it is at about 8:00 in the morning always delivered by the same guy who i must admit due to my frequent purchases has become somewhat of a friend :D lol
Its all pot luck as to if parcelforce has someone heading your way or not, its not Novatechs fault,
Dont blame them :D

even if i chose standard delivery it normally comes next day, so win win :D
They could just be fobbing you off - as said speak to Nova , paperwork has to be filled out to send the parcel including the service used.
Most of the couriers that's been mentioned here I have had issues with at somepoint in the past so don't go seeing A) as better than B) annoying as it is there is always a percentage of failures in all logistics companies unforutuantly this time it occured for you.
Also I very much doubt they could tell you there and then if it had the appropriate labelling ;) it would take him 1/2 and hour just to track it down in his warehouse.

Well yeah i do blame novatech, i run a few internet business's and we always use fedex. Yes its the most expensive but we no its going to get there the next day no problem!
I wouldent mind paying the extra couple of $$$$$ for better nextday delivery if i no im really going to get it.
So im never going to purchase from novatech again!!!!

;) its always great to have a good old flame. i no its noway novatechs fault. its the cruddy company they trusted with our parcels so we could beat the postal strike.
why cant all companys be as fast as novatech are to ship out. i mean i even got a text to say it was shiped ;).
I just advise novatech to get a better courtier service such as fedex they are great!they even have a livechat option

Thats a little bit out of order, i mean Novatech use parcelforce, and they have always been incredibly reliable (at least for me :D) its not Novatechs fault
Fedex have failed on me before ;)
I see this as just one of those 1 in 50,000 senerios it happens for all companies/couriers.
It just a matter of when, but end of day if you feel Novatech are letting you down then indeed order from who you feel happy with.
Novatech will attempt to maintain a service level, they would certainly not use the courier service if they kept getting persistant failures as its mean hassle/work for Novatech sorting the customer complaints out.
Hi Felix
I am at home at the moment, but I will be more than happy to look into this first thing tomorrow morning for you to find out what happened and see what can now be done. If you would like me to do this please PM me your order number or if not available your name and post code.

that is weird you say that it is by parcel force as mine always comes in parcel force packaging but is deliverd by a city link van when i'm about a 2 minute walk away from a parcel force ware house but still it all comes next day i only use next day becuse it has been free for me with my post count on here

I remember getting ParcelForce deliveries.. sadly no more.
The whole scheme with FastWayCouriers is that Nova will use them if you are in their 'delivery' area.
This works out better for Nova as it is cheaper than a reputable company and your stuff is located locally so it can't have gone 'missing' in a huge warehouse in Barnsley!
However, seeing as on their parcels it says ' Next Day Delivery for as little as £2.79' or something paying £8 on RAM for their cheapest (operating) area does seem a bit unfair!
I'm not complaining or 'having a go' after all little moves like this can ultimately save a company from Bankruptcy, and that '£8' is a flat-rate for England etc so it can't exactly be changed on weight and/or where you live etc.
Also I've never had a problem at all with any of their deliveries.
I've even had 'Free 3-4 Working Day Service' arrive the next day.

From my experience: DPD > UPS > DHL > Parcelforce/Royal mail
And none of them were bad, all on time. Literally just going by arrival time.

yeah Parcelforce is part of royal mail that are striking alot AGAIN this will no doubt effect the whole company on every level, even Parcelforce
that's why most other company's have dropped them

The whole business of waiting in all day for a courier is frustrating. But it makes perfect sense for Novatech to use a local courier for local deliveries in a speed and price sensitive business.
Personally, I have found Fastway to be thoroughly professional and accomodating and pleasant to deal with. Just because a company is small, doesn't mean they don't take their business seriously.
Anyway, Felix, I hope you sort the issue out with Nova. Mistakes and faults can happen, but most of have found that Nova sort it out better than most companies. :)

it still seems unfair stop shopping here just because a courier has gone wrong imo. before i knew novatech was here i used OCUK and imo there customer service is rubbish. for example i ordered an item by mistake and sent them an email a week later when it was finally dispatched i got an email back saying sorry the item has left our ware house there is nothing i can do. if that was novatech they would have taken the item out of the order right away.

I've seen the large royal mail articulated lorry dwarfing the fastways one as it leaves all loaded up in the evening down in Portchester.
I wonder if Winchester is in Fastways area? I've not had a Nova delivery before.

Round here, I prefer to learn things are being shipped via Parcel Force. Assuming the regular (and reliable) drivers/routes, the difference to me is the time of delivery. It usually works out approx:
ParcelForce 7:30-8:30am
Fedex: 11:30-2.00pm
Business Post: 11:30-2:00pm
City Link: 1:00pm-3:30pm
DHL: 1:00pm-4:00pm
others ???
It's so much nicer to have the waiting/keeping watch out of the way first thing.
Re suppliers using more than one courier: Screwfix do that, using ParcelForce and Fedex.
Hi Felix
I've PM'd you back

They aint part of Royal Mail now, they were sold off by the Govt. years ago, so are not affected by the strikes. :)

I ordered an Asus P5Q deluxe motherboard yesterday morning and chose their standard (3-4 days) free delivery for qualifying members. Delivered by Parcelforce this morning. Pats on the back all round.

I've only had 2 orders with Novatech so far but next day was delivered as promised with both.
Had a problem with an item on one order, which I spoke to someone on the phone and it was sorted as best they could on the phone - the CPU cooler didn't have a mounting bracket for the LGA1156, they put the paperwork through for me to get one from the manufacturer. Which was acceptable in my opinion.
So far it seems that the majority of the people have very good experience with service and only a couple have issues - although it could be biased by the people using the forum being loyal customers due to the good service =)

May I just add; Last night I placed an order for the Mimo UM-740 touchscreen monitor @ 1741.
17 minutes later (1758), after recieving my Order confirmation email, I recieved another saying it had been despatched!
know you might say that's becuase they wanted to close etc, but 17 minutes is exquisite!
And I recieved it before 1200 the next day (Today).
I've never had a problem at all with Novatech and I'll gladly use them again and again until my bank account runs out!
