I am no Linux expert but you can't install it to NTFS can you? You sure that's not some naughty grub loader of some sort?

i think i may not bother with windows 7 on my gaming rig anymore... might just reinstall vista and use W7 on the other rig as it wont really be used to go online that much.. it sucks really as W7 isnt as fast or brought any benefits that i expected and imo seems worse than the RC...

Grub is a Linux boot loader, not a virus.

Looks like you have a Windows (ntfs) partition named Linux.

Have you just got the one disk. What is supposed to be on it, etc.

1 disk with W7 1 disc for storage and 1 external Hdd<< though if you look its on the same disc as the windows.. and there is no partition...

question is how do i get rid of it :S

I'm not following that...

What happens if you just have the W7 disk in and as primary master/ sata1 and boot to hdd?

All very odd indeed. Can you run start up repair off the DVD?

Ah yes, what is in the DVD drive presently?

Well if you only have the Win7 disk connected and that is first on the boot order, I think I'm stuck.

"It just said remove the hard drive". What did the error message say exactly? Did it indicate an error with the drive? That drive sounds rather messed up. Try accessing the file system with a Linux Live CD. Just download Ubuntu and burn to CD and then boot from that(Don't install, select try first) and have a poke around.

pretty much said that exactly...<< sounds like effort to me.. the only effort i really feel like doing is purging windows7.. tbh im not really that impressed with it.

Your going to pop Vista back on then? I booted into it the other day and soon came back but that's me. I still can if I want to but there is no point. It was so slow to boot up and shut down, did my head in. Did several clean installs at work, they are the same, take ages to boot/shutdown. Vista is fine if you leave the PC on 24/7 as I usually do. A tad dull though.

Ah ha! There possibly lay's the problem. I too did not get on well with build 7100. In fact I recall myself ranting in several posts! The RTM is far more robust and there have been a few hotfixes too.
