Atec AV320W tv and Playstation 3

I got a PS3 at launch and decided to try a DVI to HDMI cable to link my PS3 to my tv, just to let you all know it only displays in 720p and not 1080i, still very good, but i can't see the difference from component, hope that helps someone.

My original unit was DVI, but the panel I have now is HDMI that works with all resolutions up to 1080i....the question is, is the PS3 worth the expense?

I'm waiting for a swing one way or the other, on the HD DVD/Blu ray battle, before I even consider committing (also have a wedding to save up for, so not allowed anything!!!).

for gaming use of 720p is recommended over 1080i for one simple reason, the picture is refreshed every frame, therefore image lag is less.

1080i is interlaced, half the picture is refreshed on each frame cycle so the refresh rate is effectively halved
