Hi guys. As title suggest....I`ve just ordered a Sammy F3 500Gb from nova and I want to have my OS on it, but I don`t wanna uninstall and install everything all over again, the size of the system partition is 100Gb from which about 50Gb are used.
So the question: How I`m gonna move my OS from my WD Black onto the new Sammy without having to reinstall everything again? I`ve never did something similar, hence the "unknown".

Thanks!

Acronis migrate easy.

You can get it from thier web just google it. It has a 15day free trial and its fully functional. Works really I have used it several times with very few problems.

If you have vista, the rescue disk will have a program call robocopy that basically will clone disks for you. There's more info here (http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/archive/2006/12/07/100596.aspx). Might look a bit scary, not sure how happy you are to experiment. You can't really screw up your old disk, it's just a case of setting the new one up correctly.

Robocopy is useful to know about anyway. If you ever need to shift a lot of data around it's the quickest and best way to do it.

http://clonezilla.org/
Requires some experience, works slow.
Gets your job done and for free.
I did a successful transfer for WinXP Home whole disk (2 partitions) from 40GB to 100GB hdd.

Thanks guys. I did a little bit of research myself, but I`m always ask in here before the final decision.
I don`t have vista, is win7 ultimate 64 bit and i just want to move it in the new HDD without being forced to reinstall everything all over.
Thanks @tefg but I`ll manage :D I`m not limited, it`s just c**p broadband from Sky, 20Mb bandwidth unlimited, but I can`t download anything with more than 300kbps and that only if the download server is close enough.
