Hi,

I've got a 3 week old Executer 6400 with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. If I put a blank DVD or CD in the DVD/CD writer I get no dialogue box to enable me to burn files to the disc and if I click on the drive in Windows Explorer I get the message "Windows cannot read the disc in drive D"

I found a solution to my problem at the link below, it was caused by JMicron JMB36x controller installing my DVD/CD drives as SCSI drives. I had to uninstall JMicron AND its driver from Device Manager / Storage Controllers then restart the PC and let Windows Vista install a driver. The DVD/CD drives then appeared under IDE ATA ATAPI controllers in Device Manager as Serial ATA Storage Controller and worked!
