ASRock P4VM890 m/b. I need to reset CMOS on every power up get into POST otherwise blank screen and nothing. After CMOS reset 1st time is OK only if I load default (F1) values. If I change any BIOS settings and then save and it restarts and back to being dead again.
Changed: Processor, H/D DVD,Floppy, Powersupply
Any help appreciated !!

have you got the pins to cut the cmos permanantly in place?

CMOS clear is to short pins together for 5 seconds, there are only 2 pins. I do it with a screwdriver then remove. No permanant short is there.

I'd suspect your memory is incompatible here or a bad mix.

Your absoutely right!! I only had one Memory strip. But I changed it for another one from another m/b and works fine now. Interesting it fired up each time CMOS was reset though.
