hello folks. this is my first post so please be gentle if i sound a bit of a noob.

i had a virus on my pc :(. so i formatted the hard drive and re-installed windows. unfortunately, windows reordered the lettering on my other hard drive and my dvd drive. my other hard drive was labelled as the H: drive and the DVD Drive was the D: drive. now they have swapped over and i can't access the data on that hard drive. i get an access denied error when i click on a folder in the hard drive, and i can't view the hidden folders that are on this drive.:(

so i used partition manager 8 to relabel the dvd and hard drive back to their original letters. but i still cannot access any data on tha hard drive. my C: drive is fine by the way.

is there any way i can access the files on this drive?

please help if you can.:)

This may help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810881

In Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View
Enable show hidden files and folders

To rename drive letters use admin tools > computer management > disk management
Or start > RUN > diskmgmt.msc
