I bought a novatech gaming laptop about a year ago but I can't find what model it is.

Came with 1GB Ram, Duel core 1.67GHz and I am not sure which GPU. The clevo case was the M765SU.

If you find out which model it is, thanks.

:D

Hi m8,

CPU-Z will identify most hardware components:
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Danno's thread may be of use too:
http://forum.novatech.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420

Your order will still be in the Novatech database if you log in.

Hope it helps.

Also PC wizard can identify all your hardware.

I bought one of these about a year ago as well. It is the one in the photos you posted mrgoose, although mine has 2GB Ram.

Sorry i cant tell you what the model is as i have lost my receipt, after it being around for the best part of a year, typical!

Possibly, they might keep some spare parts. If not ebay is always a rich source of unusual laptop parts. Have you tried the old fashioned dxdiag? That sometimes tells you the model I know mine does.

well i contacted Novatech chat help and asked for a quote for a new screen and a quote for it fitted.

He said the screens typically are £150-£200, i've seen the screen for about £78, and about £40 to fit.

He said for a proper quote they will need to see it £32+vat:eek:

Thats a shocker! I told him what lappy it was so a quote should have been easy. Although at that guestimate, i think i'll source elsewhere.

Not too impressed with that TBH

It's still in warranty, although it wont cover the screen, thought they would have waived the inspection fee!

Screens are so expensive - it is a joke. We can buy a 22" TFT for under £100 but for a notebook panel we pay £140 plus.

We would deffo wave the inspection fee but the inspection is a lot more than us just looking at your broken screen. We will take off a fair amount of plastics to get to the panel, then check the panel, the inverter, your wireless aerials are all behind the screen and they will be checked which will often take up to an hour by the time we have stripped it all - checked it and then rebuilt it.

Hope this explains the process a bit more.

Thanks

Kp

Thats an advantage of buying a generic branded lappy, ebays flooded with screens for toshiba etc laptops for about £70, just wondering, would a screen for a toshiba fit a novatech lappy?
