I think it would be beneficial for Novatech to show the benchmark results of all their PC's on sale. So designers, gamers and everybody else can determine what to purchase based on actual performance figures.
I think it would give the average punter a means of choosing correctly.
Problem with that is, synthectic benchmarks such as 3D Mark dont mean much in the real world and the average consumer wouldnt know what it is. And as the PC's get changed around 3-6 months it would be a very long process to test every model.

What about just the high end models, the ones for gamers and so on. I do think it would be advantageous in the long run, specially considering no rivals do this, that i'm aware of anyway.

Hmmm. I don't really think so, many avid gamers who run 3DMark06, already know what they need to get higher marks, and can predict marks of a PC, like my new Intel Core i5 Build, gets around 15000 i think at 3.6Ghz, i haven't yet tested it at 3.8, but i reckon it will stay around, because the CPU benchy part is a pain.

I also wondered what the benchmarks are against the various flavours of i5 and i7 CPU's.
I suppose I could Google it.....................

Or just look in the benchmark sub forum on here.
The problem with benchmarks is as Asce said, they don't show any real world performance
I tend to just scout the net for basic reviews of sim spec - tbh there going to be very close within 5% of each other like for like.
