Are the X-Power supplies any good in a gaming rig?

Looks like a Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=47952&doy=2m5#overview) jobbie. :o

Tis a maplin jobbie. So I take it that they are a bit poor for running a gaming rig on then? Bloomin Maplin, sold me a lemon there then.

Is it causing you problems?

I think it might be, as the newly installed 7600GT that I have appears not to be able to handle fear online. I get some serious graphic artifacts and then my system reboots. It also doesn't like ATI Tools which causes all kinds of grief when running the Find Artifacts process.

I think it might be the PSU and that's one reason why I was asking whether the PSU I have is a known good brand or not.

Does your card need power from the PSU?

If it does, I assume it is a 6 pin plug with a Y connector with a 4 pin molex plug on each of the other 2 ends.
Make sure each of these 4 pin connectors is on a different "strand" or cable coming off the PSU (Hope that makes sense ).

This will help make sure they're on different power rails, so your not pulling too much power from one circuit.

yep, a lot of people seem to be having these probs. when wiring my case i thought carefully about each power rail, keep them even and not overloaded.
