what resolution and settings do you play at
also what game
what brand is the power supply, a better one could do it some justice
how much RAM do you have
Whats the cpu?
and by the way, those temperatures are fine, my 1950xt gets to about 60C and still plays well

i would say that it may just be a power problem but first of all.

have you gotten rid of every bit of the nvidia drivers.
try different drivers
and 300W does seem a bit low.
maybe a 450/530W hiper psu would be better.
i say hiper because i have one, and so do many people on this forum. And they all work fine and i havent had a fault with mine yet

the power supply you have selected is lets say......................plop.
that is the absolute maximum, but will probably put out about 350W on average.
something like this would work so much better.
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... ?HYP-4M530 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?HYP-4M530)

anyway, you have a warranty with this new one, give it a go, and i may be wrong, it may be okay running your system

vconor

yeah, the one you just bought, should come with 1 years manufacturers warranty (you usually get this), plus you can always return it to novatech before their returns period is up if it gets broken

always read the terms and conditions

just to back tax up, hiper is great. i only had one problem, which was my psu wined, but i got a return, and a new psu :). but i wish id got another of the old one now. anyway.
those temps are great, my gfx card gets around 70-80 after heavy gaming.
get the hiper, they're also more efficient so your electricity bill will be lower.

hi its me again
i think you were right about the PSU.
I play CoD2, and im getting low frame rates after again 10 mins of play and its not nice.
So im am intersted in getting the one youve recommended above. but there is one problem, will Novatech take it back its not broken but ive had it only 20 days, so would they take it back?
and are you sure that the one you recommended it the right one for the job.
I mean i play BF2, HL2 & HL2 EP1 amd CoD2, so i would like it to be able to take on he demand of these games and well as being reasonable priced.
cheers in advanced, this would really help!
Conor

get that one, i say this because you said "the novatech one"
if it is more than £40 retail, then i will buy it.
cheap power supplies give you nothing but grief

vconor
22-05-2007, 10:25 PM

get either the corsair or the hiper power supply, whatever you do, dont get a really cheapo one.
power supply is one of the most important components of the computer!

If you can get hold of a program called PC-Check. You can use this to test the memory on your GFX card. It can also test most other components of your PC too. :!:

You would find it very difficult to get hold of this in a shop (Expensive too!).

Can you just clarify what problems you are having now ?Going back over the post everything seems a bit blurred.

If your really stuck, then get the Novatech team to check it out for you.
