View Full Version : Returns of a couple of items in an order

Hey guys
Yesterday I recieved a £550 order containing all my PC parts and I was wondering what my status would be on returning 2 of the items.
1. PCI Wireless Card
Reason: Because of my large GPU and M-ATX motherboard, all the PCI slots are covered som I cannot use it.
Status: Box unopened and still sealed
2. Akasa Red 8cm case fan
Reason: Despite a review saying it works well in the case I use, it does not fit at all.
Status: Box opened but otherwise everything is unused
I'm not sure if you can refund the fan due to the opened/slightly ripped packaging but I thought I should at least try.
If any more info is needed just tell me :D
Should be fine, just contact Customer services for a return number

What time is live chat on? It never seems to be online when I'm at home. (4:30pm onwards)
Also, I'm gonna need instructions on exactly how to return it (I'm sure it needs more than just shipping the random package to you guys :P), I've never had to return a novatech product.

All mis-sales or incorrect items must be reported within 7 days of original purchase.
If the item in question is within 28 days of purchase and was originally despatched to your location then you are eligible for collection if the product is faulty. Please contact us to arrange this on: Tel 0871 222 1221.
The item must be 100% complete.
If the item was purchased over the phone or on the internet and you are within 7 days of purchase the item may be returned for refund for any reason under '7 Days Distance Selling' regulations. The item must be returned to us 100% complete and using your own means of transit. By using this method of return, you agree to cover all costs of transit involved. The item will be refunded once inspected only if deemed in an 'as new' and resellable condition. If you wish a collection to be arranged by us you must contact us by phone and must agree to a GBP 14.10 charge. This is not available on items collected in store. Please be aware that restocking fees may be applicable to process the item.
If the item was originally collected from any of our branches then you must return it to the place of purchase along with your return number. The item must be returned 100% complete in the original packaging.
Novatech do not sell products on a trial basis. If a product was purchased in error, not wanted or is returned to us in a less than new condition for a refund or exchange, Novatech will charge a minimum 20% restocking fee.
If returning a product to us, you MUST write OUR address onto a label on the outside along with the return number issued to you. You MUST NOT write directly on to the original packaging as this will affect our ability to re-sell the item and may result in a refund being denied if one is requested. Also you must include contact details which state your NAME, RETURN ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUMBER within the package. Failure to do any of these will affect our ability to process the return. If the item is within 28 days and you return it to us having had it previously delivered, we will refund up to GBP 3.70 of your postage if requested and only if the item tests faulty.
After the original 28 days of purchase we will handle the product as per its warranty. This may include a 5-7 day period at Novatech with a possible return to manufacturer which may take approximately 28 days. We will contact you before this process has begun to ensure you are aware of its status and then again upon its return.
If there are any warranty companies for your product you should attempt to contact these first. This is especially the case for TVs and Monitors. If you need any contact details please either consult the provided materials or contact Novatech and we will provide these.
All software sales are final and refunds are not accepted. Consumables are also non-refundable.
Any items to be found without fault may be subject to inspection fees of up to GBP 30+vat for 1 hours labour.
Any items which function as memory/data retention devices (Hard Drives, USB Sticks, DVD Recorders with HDD etc) and contain any information when returned to us then unfortunately we cannot guarantee the integrity of the data on them. We recommend making all backups before returning the device to us. We do not provide a data transfer service. All memory/data retention products tested faulty will be returned to manufacturer to be dealt with under their own warranty regulations. Novatech does not provide a data disposal facility. If you have sensitive data, Novatech recommends you dispose of this data sufficiently before returning the item.
Novatech operates a Dead Pixel Policy (see our terms and conditions) which affects the return of TV/Monitor displays. Please ensure you have read and understood this policy before returning the product as if the item is not deemed faulty in line with these rulings, any refund or replacement will be denied. Wouldn't some of that mean that returning the fan with ripped packaging would cost me a restocking fee?

live chat is turned on just before 9:00 and turned off between 4:30 and 4:45 depending on how busy chat and the phones are.
its on now so if you log into chat ill give you a returns number. the bits will need posting back to us with the returns number, when we receive them back so long as they are returned in as new condition they will be refunded. open packaging shouldn't be a problem so long as its not been damaged.

Just checking some things with the parents, the returns MAY not be necessary as I have an older desktop for my brother to use that may need extra cooling and wireless internet. I'll get back to you soon with the answer.

for non faulty items we need to be contacted within the first 7 days of purchase, if you can PM me your order number or come on tech live chat i will make a note on your order just in case they do need to come back.
