well i've decided to start saving again, to expand my pc knowledge.
it may sound silly but i enjoy building and researching it all, more so than actually usin it.
anyway here the plan and tell me what you think:
1stly what do you think of this:
http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=607611
this is what my rig will change by by 08:
q6600,
4gb, OCZ flex xlc pc 9200 ram,
vista x64 home premium,
anotha 8800gtx,
and that psu
+ a 24" dell flat screen.
then this is my lil project:
my old psu, ram and cpu will go in this:
Tt lanbox HT+ 7' folding screen,
micro atx mobo (to be decided),
geforce 8600gt
and other gadget stuff :)
thoughts mainly on the psu nd the rest.
thanks

8600gt isnt worth it and you don't need that psu http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/other/display/1000w-psu-roundup.html read the bottom of that go for a 7** W hiper and an x1950pro or 7600gt or w8 4 the cheaper R6** card

the 8600gt was a bit of a flop the only thing it had going for it the 2900xt did exactly what it said it was going to do beat the gts but get beaten by the gtx and the driver updates r havin a huge effect on it http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/14/ati-radeon-hd-2900-xt-review-roundup/

so? why get it whhen a similar performing, cheaper card draws 100w less power? maybe i should get 8800gts 320mb, but might stretch my already very stretched budget :(

yes, altho i wld only occasionaly use it for games and its 7" screen. so a lower card wld be fine.

i wish i had the money to spend on a 320mb gts to play on a 7" screen for occaisonal gaming

the 8600 is a "joke"
less or same performance as a 7600gt, wait until the ATI stuff comes into play.
another 8800gtx, well jog on.............sry but by next year ther will be much better stuff out by then
