Little question regarding upgrade

Right i currently have 1024gb DDR2 633mhz Ram consisting of 2 x 512gb sticks.

To upgrade to 2gb will i be ok to add a single 1gb DDR2 633mhz stick?

I understand that memory will only run at the slowest sticks bus speed but wasn't sure about whether i'd have to buy 2 x 512gb sticks again..

if your board has 4 memory slots i woudl recommend adding another 2 X 512mb sticks instead of adding a 1gb stick, this will keep the system running in dual channel mode.

Ah ok that makes sense, just to clarify.

XP can only handle 2gb of RAM yeah?

I aint going for Vista just yet, will wait for the 1st update pack.

xp 32 bit can only handle 3GB of RAM

no, xp supports up to 3,2 or 3.25gb.

Ahhh i was under the impression it was 2GB.

That's good news, I'll go purchase 2 x 1GB sticks and Run it as

2 x 512GB and 2 x 1GB in Dual Channel.
