yup! a study on panorama showed that a wireless laptop gives 3x more radiation that a mobile phone mast, let alone the router. for that reason my family's going wired again.
2gb here i come :)
p.s anyone know howto connect up a pocket pc?
thanks

Well I said this years ago when wifi came out and they were on the old "mobile phones kill you" bandwagon.

It operates are higher frequencies (2.4ghz and going to 5ghz soon) and higher bandwidths. I Personally dont care, its too late now. They should have though about this years ago.

Stupid country / world whoever brings these things up. Most likely some idiot trying to get some fame or make some money.
All the people involved in these types of investigation should be sacked and get real jobs that will help the development of the world rather than picking holes in what other people are doing.

Common sense told me that wifi would be more dangerous. Don't need to put a huge amount of money into finding that out.

Oil at 70 degrees C burns you.
Oil at 90 degrees C burns you.
Now i wonder if you can guess what oil at 200 degrees will do?

Sorry to rant but these bandwagon bad for your health things annoy me! Especially when the risks are obvious anyway.
I don't know why we don't just ban everything and live in caves.

Also I don't think you meant to write mobile phone mast ;)
One blow of a mobile phone mast will instantly fry your brain.

yeah i meant mobile phone masts, atleast it means i get 2gb ethernet, but my phone will no longer work :(
can u get sd to ethernet adapters?

yh they may produce 3x more radiation but guess wat, its still 600x less than the government restriction

lol, i no, its only if it changes u thermally. (dicks). im gonna lan everythin with wires now, got gb stuff coming.

it heats u up? wtf my computer does that anyways, its lyk a radiator :D

aha, my radiator does that :P

and i think my computer really is a radiator its about 4 degrees warmer in my computer room than the rest of my house, im really considering water cooling about now

i got one for sale :D
and this radiation thing, lemme think of a term that wont be censored.
it is a loada rubbish tbh. wow, it gives off radiation.
think of it like smoking, its been round for ages, it spreads, and people dont give it up.
and the effects of it are obvious to anyone.
thats just common sense, like djgandy said

hmmm i really shouldnt be thinking about pc upgrades considering i have £150 for a skiing holiday to pay and £100 to put back in the bank from when i bought my 360, hmmm

Lets ban the sun!

If you stand in the sun on a hot summers day all day long you will get burnt so badly you will probably have to spend a good while in a hospital and the chances are youll end up with skin cancer. So there we have it.

Or we could ban water. If you drink gallons and gallons of water a day you will probably die pretty quick too.

I think they need to use the word excessive instead of cancer. Anything in excess will most likely kill you. Thats where moderation comes in.

Sure if you use a wireless router for a pillow you will probably die 10 years younger but the radiation out of a laptop is minute!

Funny thing is knowing this country they'll put a tax on it because it hurts you (smoking, alcohol) so not only does it "kill you" it burns a huge hole in your pocket too! Please tell me I'm wrong :x

well i have my phone in my pocket pretty much 16 hours a day so its good to know i can still have children!

agreeed, but im round it 24/7, we have it everywhere at skool and at home, so home wireless is going...

I've just read over their review on the site. The detail is hugely lacking.

All they say is there is more radiation blah blah. There is radiation everywhere, their use of the word is a scare tactic. Everyone will automatically think barrel of plutonium and nuclear and all the extremes of radiation.

Just another, "lets blame something else for cancer" regime.

What I'd like to know if they went into the school canteen after doing this investigation. I wonder what all the kids were eating. Moaning about things like wireless when they're all stuffing up on chips is like cleaning one wheel on your car.

What's the point?

I don't know how they measured the radiation, e.g. distance from the device etc.
The Radiation form a WIFI device maybe greater than that of a Mobile phone. But I don't put a router to my head when I use the internet!!.

agreed.

I also don't put my nuts on the cooker when I'm frying an egg.

Will water get banned because it can cause 'water intoxication' (which is actually life threatening!)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication

I find the argument that 'it possibly one day might very well maybe cause a slight possibility of perhaps causing cancer........maybe.........' a bit lame.....

I drive a car because its easier than running, I smoke because I like it, I'd happily eat GM food if it tastes nicer, and I'm happy with the convenience of wireless.

Anyone else?

lol, well my wireless is going anyway, i dont want it near me after watching the report.

I think that if you believe in reports like this to the extent of removing wireless, then it's too late for you anyway, your brain is already fried.
Devoid of statistical evidence, rich in ifs, buts and maybes.
Scaremongering.

The scientists have to get rid of wireless too because otherwise it wouldnt make an impact on what people think.
But then the same people use mobile phones and drive land rovers.
I got wireless because it is easy to use, and multiple users can be on it.
plus, if we are gonna die earlier because of it, then it wont make us die any younger, in theory.
Hear me out.
People are living longer because of the advances in medicine, everything is killing us earlier, so in theory, we wont live longer or less.

Ban wind aswell, im pretty sure that wind will cause brain damage if it blows too hard through your ears at a 39.5 degree angle

ahahaha, well its not my decision.
besides, things are a lot faster on cable and its not going to cost the earth and rules out any un-certainty.

Cable is good i use it. Your paranoia is unhealthy though. You cannot escape radio waves. They are everywhere. Put it this way what you are doing has about as much impact as 1 single person not taking the car to work.
