Ok, my new pc is almost finished, just got to get ram, vista and a gfx card.
I was planning to get the HD x2900xt but that has not lived up to what i wanted to be a 8800gtx beater. i dont want to spend a lot of money on a card like an 8800gtx when theres probably the 8900 or 9series coming out soon. I really dont know what to buy. do you think i should buy the 2900xt and see if any new drivers come out that increase performance or just get a 320mb 8800 to last me a couple of months until new cards come out? Bear in mind im going to be getting games like crysis and what not which im guessing are going to require bad *** cards...

Ps: regarding memory shall i get 4gb rather than 2gb? does/will it give me any gains in performance now or in the near future?

Get 2GB memory
then get some more when it gets cheaper, not that much increase in performance tbh

I would get a 2900xt, because the newer drivers make it perform much faster, and beating the 8800gts in almost everything on vista.

the 2900xt isnt surposed to beat the 8800gtx, just the 8800gts, plus sound over the HDMI is a real plus for people using HD tv's

I'd get 4g for vista as it is so memory hungry! As for the gpu the 320 in sli out performs the gtx in sli in a lot of games of today not sure about crisis tho lol probably need 3 gtx's for that! the ati card is only around £70 more and i would like 2 see how they match in cf so i would prob go for the ati option for now!!
