Hey all.
Just went out and bought the new Windows 7 Home Premium edition and installed it on my NovaTech gaming laptop today, only to find several problems with drivers.
I bought my laptop about 7-8 months ago, it is a x70 with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.40GHz
MOB: M860TU (not a 100% sure on this one, used the CPUZ program to locate it though)
Chipset: Intel PM45
Southbridge: Intel 82801IM (ICH9-M)
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 250Gb 7200 SATA
GFX: Nvidia GTX260 1GB VGA
One of my problems is, that the driver CD-rom which followed with the purchase of the laptop, of course doesnt work with Windows 7 (though it does work with the beta version) and every single GFX driver I've tried to download, being it a complete package or just the bare minimum, seems to fail. All driver's where of course downloaded from Nvidia's official website.
When I try to install the GFX driver's, the pop-up message informs me that the driver can not be installed because it doesnt work with my hardware.
The GFX driver I am trying to install at the moment is the:
Nvidia GeForce -> GeForce 200 Series -> GeForce GTX 260 -> Windows 7 64-bit -> English (UK)
I havent installed any other hardware or tampered with the hardware at all.
Do any of you guys have a solution to my problem?
Best regards,
Vandercook
