Joined up because i live pretty close to novatech in pompey, and was going to call the shop and quiz them on what’s best for my current system, an upgrade or a new build.

Have experience building pcs for myself, but have lost contact with the terminology and compatibility of it all..... Love putting systems together out of old bits and bobs....

Have put my question about upgrade or new build up in the relevant forum here (http://forum.novatech.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17794)

Kind of hoping this forum will get me back up to speed with things.... :)

As you can see from the post time, i have the first trait of a pc lover, posting @ silly o'clock in the morning!!

I am just about to setup RAID for speed. I have a couple of spare SATA drives to play with.

Going OK so far. Windows 7 installed and I am now using Easy Transfer to move my stuff across. This takes ages though and hopefully it will move all my games etc and they will work. The transfer size is 476gb

Ouch... have you just about finished the transfer?

Yeah, pointless exercise as the drives speed are worse than my single 750gb lol. Back on that install. At least I had something to do today.
