I wonder if anyone can help?

Last night whilst online my 2 wireless PC's lost the connection to my BT Home Hub for no apparent reason. I also have a third PC which is connected to the Hub by the ethernet cable (this works fine). I have rebooted all three PC's and the Hub but this didn't fix the problem. I have removed the security (WPA/WEP) from both Hub and PC's and I am still unable to connect. I have also reset the Hub to factory defaults and tried to reconnect the wireless PC's without success.

I have reconnected a Netgear router which I used before the BT Home Hub. I managed to get a wireless connection with this but the internet speed is very slow.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the BT home hub, but generally, when a problem like this occurs it's best to unplug both modem and router in order to completely reset them, and switch off any computers that connect to them. You then plug them back in one by one and switch on one at a time, starting with the modem. Wait for it to become fully working then connect the router and finally turn the computers back on.

This has worked for me on 2 or 3 occasions, so I hope it helps you.

Cheers for that.

I actually switched the whole lot off over night and then this morning switched on the Hub and then a PC but still no joy.

but not completely fixed. I have abandoned the BT Home Hub and gone back to my old Netgear router. Changed the broadcast channel and for the time being this seems to have fixed the problem.

I have never been entirely happy with the BT Hub anyway.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but I can see about 6 or 7 other wireless networks from my PC (most unsecured !!). Would this create any interference if everybody is using them at the same time?

These would create a certain amount of interference. Some may even cancel each other out. But as they need to travel (propagate to be technical :P) through Walls etc. they should be quite weak.

Changing the channel like you have done should also help.
