Hi all,

I have a q320 which is about 8 months old. Other than 1 dead pixel, no probs so far!

Until now that is! I have just purchased a LiteOn DD-A500GX HDMI upscaling dvd recorder. When I connect it to the Q320 via HDMI - DVI the picture is shrunk (1/2 inch black bar top & bottom) and the picture is shifted to the left (1 1/2 inch black bar down right hand side. This happens in 720p & 1080i resosultions and to a lesser extent in 576p.

When using component outut the picture is centered but I get "no signal" every few seconds and it will only accept a 576i input through component.

There is also noticible lip sync problems on both inputs.

The DVD recorder has been tried on my parents Samsung set at all resolutions without problems.

Has anyone else experienced this, are there any settings that can be altered or is this a fault.

Grateful for any input anyone can give.

Thanks in advance

Scott

Hi,
have you managed to get anything else working thru' HDMI? Most upscaling dvd players will only upscale via HDMI, not component, although I would have expect 576p to work correctly.

As it works on your parents TV, it sounds like the panel is at fault.

There have been various issues regarding the different chipsets used in different tv's, although whether this is the cause of your problems I don't know. It sounds remarkably similar to mine though (not Hyundai, but Atec)

I had issues with Sky HD and a Samsung dvd-850hd upscaling dvd player. I managed to get around the dvd players issues by setting the player to output as NTSC, rather than PAL (only until the TV had a firmware upgrade)

If you haven't had anything else working thru HDMI, it is probably worth calling the service company responsible for this company.
