Have downloaded and installed MS Office Pro 2010 Beta and all seems fine except in Outlook I can receive E:Mails but am unable to send. Anybody else had this problem, or does anyone know how to overcome

Thanks in advance

We hasve progressed I think Messages now go but do not appear in Sent Box and if you send one to yourself they go do not appear in sent box and are never received. And no they are not in the Outbox

The situation at the moment is
I have run microsoft E:Mail test Programme and sent 14 Test messages and everything OK
My Security System "MaCafee tells me that it is receiving the aforementioned test messages and they would be in my Inbox, but they are not
Any thoughts

:):):):):):thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Well all of a sudden 4 (FOUR) sets of inboxes appeared and low and behold there were my Total of 18 Test messages which had been received AOK .
So at the moment I have 4 each of the following Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Junk, Deleted and Search Folders.
So all i have to do is get rid of the 3 (three) that I do not want

Well you learn something every day

Progress ?? we Cannot even receive E:Mails now. During to formulation of the E:Mail Account Microsoft say all is OK and Test message is sent. But never received. When I try to send an E:Mail it just goes straight to the Out Box. Have tried to phone MS aagain but they are not interested on a Saturday.

So I'm packing up this PC and getting my old one out (God it's slow) at lease the E:Mails work on that I've got at the moment some 20 to send

Will let you know the outcome

Bye

Have my First PC going again which has XP on it have installed Microsoft Office Professional 2010 Beta and ""Cross Fingers"" Outlook works perfecting with exactly the same settings as my New 5 week old Novatech Computer. So I think Mr Novatech will be getting a 'phone Monday AM to see if he can shed some light on the problem

I have the 2010 Beta also, and it works fine. Perhaps it was that you didnt configure it correctly the first time around? I dont think that the appearance of several inboxes is a fault with the new computer - it really does sound like it wasnt installed/set up correctly.

Also, remember, it is a Beta, so you must expect that it wont operate perfectly on its own, and you may have to correct little niggles with it from time to time...

Bear with it though, as I think thats it's quite a good piece of kit even in its current state!

Den.

run the setup again and select the 'repair' feature, it may have skipped a file or 2 during the installation stage. Try deleting and re-setting up the Email account in outlook, all works fine for me.

I must say that other than this problem I like Office 2010 it's just what I would like and need.
Have Downloaded several times done complete Disc Clean reinstalled Windows 7 but the problem arose.
So until I've spoken to Microsoft again tomorrow morning I am using Office 2003 again

Any thanks for all the help and advice.

""" I dont think that the appearance of several inboxes is a fault with the new computer - it really does sound like it wasnt installed/set up correctly."""

I should have said this before at no time at all did I say that having 4 "Inboxes"" was a fault of the Computer.
Office 2010 Beta was set up correctly, Yesterday I had it checked by a Computer Engineer friend.
Until microsoft can or are willing to give me an answer I am uwing office 2003

In your post you say that the older computer operates the Beta fine, and that on Monday you will give Novatech a call to shed some light on the problem. Since Novatech tech support can only advise on their products, and not the Beta release of a Microsoft product, this indicates that you place all or part of the fault on the new computer. If this isn't what you intended then I apologise, but you can see how it could easily be misconstrued.

Also, I refer again to the fact that it is a Beta release. It will have bugs and idiosyncracies that may at first not be easily recognisable or resolvable. This is why Beta versions are released, to get quick exposure to these bugs so they can be ironed out. It may be that the software/driver/hardware confirguration you use creates this issue, and feeding the info back to mIcrosoft means that they can prevent it in the future full release. This also means that you are unlikely to get an immediate reply from them to rectify the issue, as investigations and solutions like this will be periodically rolled out.

Well you lot of clever so and so's I wasn't blaming Novatech AT ALL and it's nothing to do with it being a Beta and I did say it wasd Intermittant I have found the cause and it was nothing to do with me, Novatech or Microsoft. Also it will probably not be corrected for a couple more days. it is being worked on even as we speek. Many other people up and down the country have the same problem but it is only intermittant.

Oh! i forgot to mention I DO know what a BETA is for.

If people are having the problem all over the country then it must be a glitch in the program, that only occurs with certain hardware or conflicts with other software. Almost certainly because its a Beta

Hey look mate - you asked for opinions - I gave my opinion.
I was only trying to help, and to be honest your sarcastic attitude certainly wont endear you to others to help you out in the future.
On this forum, friendly advice and rhetoric is taken in the good nature that its intended with. People (and myself included) don't set out to belittle or take the p*ss out of others here.
We're here to help because we're all in the same position at one time or another

I wont get dragged into some silly little *** for tat with you because to be honest, there's many more things I'd rather be doing.
