Hi,

I recently got a 'Novatech GeForce 7600GT PCI-E 256MB DDR3 DVI/TVO SLI' (NOV-76GT) for a new system build and it has worked without problems, however, recently when I cold boot the machine I occasionally get a corrupted screen with black and white bars going across the screen and nothing else. The mouse pointer is visible and movable and the PC is still booting and loading things in but the display just stays frozen on the black bars! Which is very bizarre!

I have tested my whole setup with the latest burnintest utility and no errors where reported of any kind. The main ram is fine as is the graphics card ram and games all work fine with no problems at all!

I have also installed a tray utility to monitor the temp of the gfx card and the temps are around 44-45C idle and goes up to about 62C when playing a game. I know my CPU isnt overheating as I recently installed a freezer 7 pro on it and that idles at 36C and goes to about 46-47 under 100% load!

I've found that hitting reset on the corrupt gfx screen seems to bring back the graphics as they should be. I'm not sure what is going on here really. I know my PSU is powerful enough as its a 550watt one and when the system is on it's rock solid. Only had the odd program with a 'Not responding' problem with windows now and again but I guess thats normal!

Not sure wether to return this card for a replacement as it doesnt report itself as faulty when tested? It's beginning to annoy me having shelled out around £600 for a new system!

Anyone got any Ideas what could be causing it to do that?

Cheers,

J.
