Hi, I have a the above mentioned laptop, which is of the thin and light variety. I seem to remember it taking a different type of RAM to what I was used to seeing (the long, thin version)

Can you point me in the right direction?

it will use SO-DIMM's either ddr2 or ddr1, depending on the model of the laptop.

M30KI2 = DDR1

M30EI2 = DDR1

M31EI2 = DDR2

you can find this model number on the FCC label on the bottom of the notebook.
