Can`t get past POST/cant boot pc

ok so just cant boot my pc up as it says the file <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt.Yet i havent done anything to the hard drive or that file.All i did was take the vga and the ethernet cables out and put them into my bros netbook(which i am using now) i havent got a installation disk either as i lost it.

can anybody reccomend anything please?

never mind its sorted now,it was a keyboard error, lol feel like such an idot now.Was gonna check the wires but it sounded like it was on the hard drive.
