Roughly a week or so ago i overclocked ma motherboard by 5% and my graphics card by a small amount, i have never done any overclocking before so i i used a guide on the internet which suggested using rivatuner and putting the values up by about 15 (core and memory i think? cant remember so well >.<)

anyways! i didnt really see any diff so i changed the graphics card back but left the motherboard as it was... about 3 or 4 days later i started my computer up, went to check my emails and it completely froze as it was loading gmail.com, absolutely nothing worked... so i reset and tried again... emails were fine etc etc soon after i was playing about on minesweeper (i was bored and had 5 mins to waste before i had to do stuff  ) and again it completely froze. It was fine for a while after that but it froze as i was playing wc3... but this time i was still able to talk to people on ventrilo and if i hit the windows key and moved ma mouse to the bottom u could see the normal cursor

froze a few more times and i kinda got annoyed so i formatted to see if that would fix things and it seemed okay... no freezing at all until i started playing wc3 again and since then it only freezes when im playing that (thats the only game ive got installed atm tho), each time im still able to speak to people on ventrilo (thats about it tho)

So! keeping in mind i formatted its gotta be a hardware fault and to me it seems like it could be the RAM, motherboard or graphics card tho i may be wrong ofc... im no computer genius =[ im hoping it can be fixed and not replaced as ive already forked out for a new monitor the other day >.<

either way i hope i can find the answer here!

What gpu have you got and how much did you oc by? I had the same prob with bf2142 but i unistalled and reinstalled and that fixed the problem. The specs of your pc would be useful also!
