hello
i am trying to upgrade a friends computer but i aint to sure what to buy he wants to play games so help with a suitable graphics card and a quieter faster hard drive, the computer and specs are on the following link...please help if you can

and what games does he want to play but as it is agp you are looking at ati i mean the x1950 range is good for the high end but chances are you are lookin for something lower down where you have the x1650 pro etc which i have just bought and installed in my sisters computer and the graphics jump is brilliant

thanks guys but the moneys not an issue,its just something to play good games,that will fit straight in,cos i aint that clued up on upgrading,just stuck another 1gb of memory in it if that helps,any ideas are .welcome,and any links to the novatech site,to point me in the right direction

its hard to say on the graphice card, but the chances are you will need a new power supply

Thanks techno kid,but im more confused now,why would i need a new power supply and if i do any you can recomend,all help is gratefully appreciated,as im still learning

thanks for the advice,just checked the specs on the pc and it states Full Featured Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) 8x Controller so will the following be ok and its cheap and hopefully easy to install

no u should be ok unless its really old and low output!! But they r not over expensive so not a great problem

I cant vouch for both of those cards they r brilliant the x1650pro agp will b ok on ur psu but if u go for the x1950 pro then you will need a new psu lyk the 1 in my sig

sorry to burst your bubble m8 but that card isnt anywhere near the middle its a 2 generation old card and no where near as powerful as the x1650 pro or the x1950 pro
