View Full Version : Lost sound on some videos....

Hello,

I have some videos (I think they used to be MPEG's) which have for some reason lost their sound when I try to play them in WMP. They open up fine with WMP but only the sound is played and the 'visuliser' effect thing is displayed. Also, I just get the default thumbnail when looking at it in the folder, instead of a still from the video. Also, on the thumbnail it says they are AVI files.

Does anyone know how they could have changed from normal WMP videos (I assume MPEG) to AVI, and more importantly, does anyone know how I can get the video (the visual part) of the video back?

Thanks in advance! :D

i think they are probably using a different codec. download a relevent codec from a site such as divx this solves my avi problems. i hope this helps. http://www.divx.com/

the good news is its free.

if you download and install the k lite codec pack this should have the codecs you need to play the videos.
