It appears that part of the specification for the Corsair CX 400W (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/PowerSupplies/Corsair/CMPSU-400CXUK.html) (Max Combined Wattage and Total Power) has been used for the more powerful Corsair VX 550W (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/PowerSupplies/Corsair/CMPSU-550VXUK.html) thereby seriously under-specifying the latter.

The specification, taken from the Corsair website here (http://www.corsair.com/products/vx/default.aspx) (click on Resources) should be:

DC Output....................... +3V +5v +12v -12v +5vsb
Max. Load....................... 30A-28A--41A--0.8A---3A
Max. Combined Wattage.....140W--492W-9.6W-15W
Total Power..................... 550W

You misread it Dave.

Corsair CX400W

AC Input 90-264V ~ 5-9A ~ 47-63Hz
DC Output +3.3V +5V +12V -12V +5Vsb
Max Load 20A 20A 30A 0.8A 3A
Max Combined Wattage 130W 360W 9.6W 15W
Total Power 400W

30A sounds about right to me. Or Nova have fixed it. :xsmile:

Oh wait, the Nova spec on the VX550W is wrong...LOL

AC Input 90 - 264 VAC
DC Output +3.3V +5V +12V -12V +5Vsb
Max Load 30A 28A 41A 0.8A 3A
Max Combined Wattage 130W 360W 9.6W 15W
Total Power 400W

Should be 550W and 41A as you say.

The 41A was correct Steve, but the Maximum Combined Wattage and Total Power have been copied from the CX400W.

The 12v (single line) wattage should read 492W.
