Hello all,

I have had an offer of a HTC Magic for £150, brand new and boxed.

Does anyone here own one? I am unsure whether i'd get on with it due to the lack of a QWERTY keyboard.

Is the keyboard setup similar to that of the iPhones?

Hmmmm HTC I dunno, I'm currently having loads of problems with my Hero connecting to the internet every hour and costing me a fortune. Orange are sruggling to get to the bottom of it, without much luck.

Also once you have copied all you contacts from the SIM there is no way of copying them back again, so I guess that unless you get another one you lose all of 'em.

To be fair to the Hero it's designed for an always on internet connection so not really a surprise that it's connecting every hour.

If you get the APNDroid application though you should be able to stop all data if you don't have a decent data plan

With the contacts they should be saved to your gmail account by default

According to Orange it is a known fault in some HTC handsets and regardless of it being an internet phone, it shouldn't be connecting and costing money as a default.

Anyhoo Orange are replacing the handset.

I bet it isn't easy to put your contacts on a non android phone from your g-mail.

You can sync g-mail contacts with Blackberry, iPhone, Palm webOS, Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile as well as Android obviously, so for most smart phones it's quite easy.
