Hd always running at 50%

Hiya lads i've been noticing a slowing in my machine over the last couple of weeks and it would seem that my boot hd 250g seagate barra is always runnning constantlyeven when the machine is idling it runs at either50% or over the hd light is on more than off, coul;d this be slowing my machine down and how can i fix it?

I take it from this you are seeing a process in the Task manager that is running at this speed ?

Can you see what process it is ?

Also what is the commit charge (bottom right hand corner of task manager) showing.

No thats the thing its not that its the actual hd itself the cpu usage is nothing, no processes running, used the nvidia control panel to see the usage of the everything and the disk is always running at 50% and the hd light on the front of the case is always on also!!

Do the basic
disk clean up
disk defragment
error checking
should help a tiny bit, if you havent done it already

Yep done all that still got a constant hd light and a slow unresponsive pc which it really shouldnt be.

Jeez just finished dskchk no errors found and its fine now. Love pc's lol :?
