View Full Version : Delete icons from network groups
Hi,
Have networked my main PC,laptop and netbook. All show their public folders on the other machines.
The only problem is that Vista shows two networked icons/PC's which are no longer on the same network/workgroup.I have tried to delete these two icons, but there is no delete in the properties.
How can these two dead icons be removed so only the current workgroup PC's are listed.
I don't have these problem with my main PC and the netbook, both run XP.
Cheers
All PC's are on the same network using the same workgroup
This must be a tough one...... ;-)

Hmm interesting, refreshing the network locations? Are they mapped network drives?
Hi snakedoc, none of the network drives are mapped,I have refreshed the list many times, they still insist on staying .
Like I said its just Vista, the list of reasons I hate Vista is growing
Thanks for the help

try going to the command prompt, type in "net computer", and follow the instructions,
tbh, i'd just live with it :)

could always try an ipconfig /flushdns.
dont know if that will help you or not. (try deleting history and clearing cookies)
I had this issue last week with a couple of shared folders that were no longer in existance, ended up having re-create them so it would let me delete the refrence as I just couldn't get rid of them any other way :(
