Opera Being Redeveloped?

I've never used Opera before, but I know it's a relatively well known web browser, and quite old...

Is it being like rereleased/redeveloped?
because I've installed it on my Mint Linux Laptop from the Software Manager, and it's AMAZING... Like Google Chrome...

It's just natural development, everything is trying to keep up with the best ideas from the other.

it's kept up the browser race for a long time, just doesn't get as much publicity as firefox or chrome

It's always being added to, but fire fox is taking such a large share of the market, that it may no longer be viable to keep updating opera! Given the recession it will be interesting to see what happens in the long run :(

Opera has never stopped being developed and personally I really like it.
Works on most OS's too.
