and get a 5770, might need a new psu, dont know anything about that and no time to research it.

if u want to stick with the mobo then get an e5400 or a quad if u can get one cheap enough 2nd hand along with a set of ram such as

you would need to state a budget and useage of the machine though as they are kind of wild swings in the dark.

That Asus mobo is Am3 so wont take DDR2 RAM, so i need some other ram,

im confused here, is 400 for the enitre build or just for am3 cpu, ddr3 ram and gpu?

if its for the entire build then you will be stuggling i think, dont think you could get an am3 build at that price. if its just for those things mentioned then go for

The Xigmatek fans are good. Look great too.

You forgot optical drive and GPU. Stick in a 5770 and it should come to £500 which is really not bad. Will play most current games on high at a decent resolution.

forget what oscar said, that mobo is ddr2. also the mobo you orginally linked is a good choice. cpu wise, well you could get a x3 or x4 if you manage to get a got chip that has just been locked so you MIGHT be able to unlock more cores. generally the p2 are better choice for gaming but the athlon x4 isent bad either and will be better for daily use as well, persuming you cant get the p2 to unlock. for the gpu, go for a 5770.

cpu, up to you really. would probably recommend the athlon. if you just want to play only mw2 then try picking up a 2nd hand 4800 series ati card. if not then get a 5770. should have asked already, but what res you game at?
