My computer has been working fine up to now until my memory stick decided to corrupt and i had to run a Chkdsk on it. Now everytime i start my computer it gets to the windows blip screen then goes into Chkdsk if i skip it wheras it should just carry on or restart the computer it just freezes if i wait for it to run through the Chkdsk it freezes and doesnt reboot automatically when i manually reboot the system it goes to the end of the chkdsk screen and freezes there someone please help me!

Sounds borked. Reinstall.
Not helpful I know, but it's what I would do.
Failing that get a copy of Hiren's BootCD and run the hardware diagnostic programs on it.

Try putting your xp cd in and doing the chkdsk thru the repair function. then a fixboot

Do what I said with Hiren's BootCD, that should tell you which component is giving you trouble.
