What is the best, or what is the best in your opinion? I need some, I have AVG Pro, but that's just so I have an anti-virus, I want one that can actually do something, anybody know or use any good ones? Doesn't matter if I have to pay for it.

I use microsoft security essentials and threatfire, both are free and keep my computers clean.
This is just my opinion, others may disagree.
In my opinion avg is a waste off space.

Hi,
You need to find what works best for you and plays well with your setup. I use Symantec Antivirus which is like nortons big brother. It works well on server os's and terminal sessions. I wont say it's great on memory but it does a good job.
I use avg on forensic machines as it is more tolerant of programs like nc, cain & able and those programs.
I use Nod32 when i want good performance and security and I use clamav on mailsystems as it's also very good as quick inline scanning.
So i know that doesn't help alot but rellay there is no one av for all situations. Some play nice with certain programs some don't. You will need to test a few out and see what you like. No av is ever top dog for long they are always good at somethings and bad at others.

I have always used both my friend, threatfire works slightly differently too other avs.
ThreatFire AntiVirus - Behavioral Virus and Spyware Protection (http://www.threatfire.com/)
But as retrocpter says it is each too his own and what works for them.

I know I already been in its website and seen it meant to run along side another anti virus, just thought it was strange as I had never heard of a antivirus like this before.

For me kasperky is the best, doesn't bother you at all and seems low on your systems resources usage.

Another thought... Where are you based? If your around London and you have some free time available at the end of April sign up to infosec at earls court, it's free.
All the big av players will be at the show and most of them will be giving away freebies of their products. They might only come with a years update support although f-secure had no restrictions and each person got 3 personal licences. You can also pick up a load of geeky pens, stress balls and other such stuff ;-)
Oh an get informed about great enterprise security!
