Can someone help me please? My PC keeps rebooting, seemingly randomly. Sometimes it doesn't do it for days, but sometimes it will do it 3 or 4 times after starting up again. Also, mostly when playing games, beeping noises start coming from it. Again, sometimes this won't happen for hours, others within 10 minutes of starting up the game.
I've already sent it in once for hard drive replacement, when it kept rebooting but a lot more often. This stopped it happening for a couple of months. Is there something I can just alter or fix myself without having to send it off? The problem was definitely the hard drives last time, so do you think it's the same thing again or a new problem.
When I go into control panel and uncheck 'reboot on system failur', the message that appears when it crashes is 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_UNPAGED_AREA', which to me suggests that it's the hared drives again.
Thanks a lot

have you made sure that everything (hardware) is installed properly
if you have installed new software then uninstall that and see if it still happens

sounds like a ram problems
use memtest86 (http://www.memtest.org) download an .ISO of the program and burn it to CD, boot your PC from this CD and it will tell you if you ram is a bit knacked.

Also:
Have a look at your virtual memory settings and set them to 'system managed' (if not already).
1) Right-click My Computer and select Properties.
2) Select the Advanced tab.
3) Select the Settings button under Performance.
4) Select the Advanced tab.
5) Click the Change button under Virtual memory.
6) Select 'No paging file' and click the Set button. Click 'Yes' if prompted.
7) Click OK, OK, and OK.
8) Shutdown and restart.
9) Right-click My Computer and click Properties.
10) Select the Advanced tab.
11) Click the Settings button under Performance.
12) Select the Advanced tab.
13) Click the Change button under virtual memory.
14) Select 'System Managed Size' and click the Set button. Click Yes if prompted.
15) Click OK, OK, and OK.
16) Shutdown and restart.

My home PC let me install XP, ran ok for a few hours and install all of my apps then a few days later started restarting itself only when running certains programs, or when loading lots of graphics for 1 or 2 of my FPS or flight sim games.
Turns out it was 1 of the 2 mem sticks I had running duel channel. Replaced and has been ok since.
I would certainly recommend getting the mem settings checked as already advised and then the mem tested also just in case if you have not done so already.
