hello everyone,
Recently brought x40i, had to do restore to factory settings after encountering a problem a error message and being unable to use my laptop properly. After doing so found no problems until trying to use msn live messenger. It wouldn’t open automatically when trying to open it, the only way I could do was by shutting laptop lid and reopening I had never seen anything like this before, I have done the usual reinstall and was close to the stage of wiping my pc once again. Instead I have tried the older version of msn 7.5 and didn’t have problems until trying to use webcam and it would crash, does this mean I can’t use msn properly on my laptop. What should I do ? I have had more problems with msn live messenger, closing my laptop I no is not a big deal but it also crashes when it sees fit
The serious problem is, is that I am unable to shutdown my pc properly as it wont let me when it crashes.
P.s any help would be great  I have vista could it be this ?

blimey, most people have the opposite problem - trying to stop the darn thing from opening!!!

I would probably think about backing up your data and using the restore cd, sounds like something is corrupt or atleast miss-configured. Have you tried a "sfc /scannow" from DOS? (i hope thats still available under vista...)
