Right, I'm trying to install a certain OS on my laptop (Compaq CQ60 300-EV) that won't boot from the DVD or a USB Thumbdrive. Although it will boot and install under VmWare Workstation 5-6.5. So is it possible to install the OS to my physical HDD and boot from that natively?
*This OS that i'm installing comes with a "Still waiting for root device" Error when booting from CD

as far as i know its not possible because the virtual machine will create a file that enhouses the Virtual Machine. Basically, the Vitual Machine cant strictly access the HDD in that way. It may be possible to create a small partition just enough room for the windows installation and install through a virtual machine that way and then remove the other partition and enlarge the newly installed windows. I think this is a pretty blank area, only thing you can do it try
