Is the CPU just that big chip thats got the fan on it? When you buy a new one do you have to get a new mobo as well?
Im thinking of buying a new CPU so when i get a new GPU it wont cause any bottlenecks. Whats the price range of duel core CPUs?
Also, whats the price range of a new mobo with 2gb of ram?
Thanks alot.

You wont need a new mobo for a new cpu to be installed
Just make sure its the same socket type
If unsure, just ask

skt 754 my friend is dead
Best move would be to go skt 775 (intel) or AM2 (amd)
They are really cheap right now and can have the most up to date components added to them

Well im going to buy a barebone bundle but i dont know anything about CPUs or mobos.
I hear that alot of new games are built for duel core and around 2gig ram, so that would be nice.
Are there any advantages of Intel or AMD? The 6 most expensive ones on the Novatech site are all Intel...
