Just a quick one about the security of the members market, i propose a new rule:

Pictures must be supplied upon post of the thread with username and date written on a piece or paper in the image. So to prove that you own the item and its ready to be sold.

That is all.

i dont think that would help much.

just look at the people who sold the i7 and 5870. also the person who sold that bike.

they provided pictures, but people are still waiting for these to arrive.

scamming will happen everywhere, no matter what the rules. its a shame a small minority have to ruin it for the rest. novatech hasnt had many dodgy deals in the past. its a shame so many have happened so recently.

I don't know braniac,

just adding small rules like that would help to slightly discourage people from scamming, yes it will still happen occasionally but it would at least prove that the person has the item in their possession and haven't just got it off google.

yes, but putting rules such as this will prove that they actually own the product, i know it wont stop completely, but i will minimise it to absolute minimum. If the person who was selling the i7, they couldnt have possible posted the thread in the first place if this rule was in place because they wouldnt have the image with their username and date in it therefore preventing it.

As llawwehttam also just explained it would minimalise the risk.

I think that all pictures of the item should have a piece of paper with the seller's username at least (maybe date and time) in the picture.
This way, you know the seller owns the item, and is actually willing to sell it.

Hmm would be kinda pointless doing that because it just proves they have the goods but it doesn't prove whether they're going to deliver them.

they may have owned the goods at one point, possibly some time ago and sold them previously and using the images again to con someone. But yes not an absolute need and would probably not be needed, but it opens the chances a small fraction.

Yes, but right now i could go on google find several images of high end tech and convince you that i own them and am going to deliver them. Sure, it doesnt completely eliminate the risk of someone being scammed, but it would certainty cap it a considerable amount.
