ok i have been on the crucial website and looked at there ram and they tell me which is best etc but there's is too expensive so i want to buy some cheap novatech RAM...
at the moment in my Foxconn 865A01 - PE - 6EKRS mobo i have one stick of 512mb in dimm1...
i want to add 2x1gb sticks...
but i have been reading and researching and i don't understannd the installing in pairs etc...
so can i buy the novatech RAM or similar cheap brand and install the two sticks in dimm2 and 3 or does it have to be 3 and 4...
and or do i have to get rid of the 512 and put the new stuff in place????!!!!
please help thanks a lot!

I would put the new in 1 and 2 then the 512 in 1 of the other slots it'll be fine like that, jeez you'll really notice the difference

ok yeah will do man...thanks for your help recently...
i have just been reading up in my manual and it has been saying that i may need to use certain vendors listed one of them was samsung which there RAM can be bought from the novatech website so i was thinking of getting that now...
but i also read in there about single channels and dual channels...
basically saying that if i use single channel i can only have 2 sticks in any of the four slots!!!
and if it was dual channel i can have all four or having two
so now im really confused :?
so is it still ok to have the 2 new sticks in the first 2 dimms and have the 512 in the third or will i have to scrap the third?????!!!!!

thanks a lot btw!

No the ram you'll be getting will be fine in 1&2 and the 512 in 3. If its a novatech pc then there is usually a mention next to the ram that it is for nova systems i think your looking at ddr400 for that board so go for the corsair value select if i was you defo better than the nova own
