I have a Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L mobo with 2GB of very nice Geil Black Dragon RAM. Currently the CPU is an old intel single core, which I've overclocked to 3.5GHz. They both run at 800MHz bus speed.

The problem is I am looking to upgrade my processor to either a dual or quad core, but the cheapest novatech sell ;) I can O.C. it later :P However, they dual core and quad core have bus speeds at 1066MHz and 1333MHz respectively. Will they work in conjunction with my RAM?

btw if you press ctrl + F1 in bios it unlocks more options for memory timings and speeds iirc, may allow you to overclcok further

The limiting factor will be your motherboard. I doubt it will be stable over 450FSB so choose your CPU carefully (getting an Q8200 with a x7 multi will limit you at 3GHz if you are lucky).

Well my mobo's really good for overclocking :) I know it will handle the OC well due to various reviews and stuff. The problem was the compatibilty, but thanks all :)

You'll need to upgrade the bios, but 3.06 GHz Dual-core Wolfdale E6600 support is given, and the memory will overclock, so happy days:
